We are open to all levels of kendo participants, including beginners. All rooms are located at the Student Recreation Center.   
Friday: 6:00 - 8:00pm Room 303/304 Rec Center
Sunday: 2:00 - 4:30pm Room 303/304 Rec Center

10-31-2011 Update

 

Howdy everyone!!

 

Just over three weeks ago, the A&M Kendo Kyokai participated in the UT Taikai tournament. Both participating teams advanced to the Final 8 before being eliminated from the brackets. Congratulations to all participants. The matches from the tournament were recorded, and have been uploaded to a youtube account. Please note that all of the match videos have not been uploaded yet.

Texas A&M Participants in the UT Taikai

Team A (back): Victor, Matt, Taki, Li-an, Hao-yu

Team B (front): Jose, Sang, Heath, Chris ; Team manager: Armel

Also, this past weekend, our club president Victor Lee attended the Southwest Kendo Iaido Federation [SWKIF] Seminar and Shinsa in Arkansas. While attending, he participated in the Shinsa, or ranking exam, and achieved the rank of 3 Kyu. Congratulations Victor!!

 

Lastly, on November 12, 2011, the Texas A&M Kendo Kyokai will be attending the All United States Kendo Federation [AUSKF] Board Meeting in Dallas, TX. There will be a seminar taught by Takanabe-sensei, who was the 58th All Japan Kendo Champion from 2010.
